The Top 10 sights in Barcelona We debated long and hard over what should be number one on this list and it was not easy but we had to start somewhere so we started with the famous… 1. La Sagrada Familia C/Mallorca, 401, 08013 Barcelona A Giant Temple designed by the master architect Antonio Gaudi. This building has been under construction since 1882 and they've still got another 30 to 80 years (depending on funding and resources) to go before it will be finished.
2. Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) Barri Gotic is the historic heart of Barcelona. Within its boundaries is preserved an amazing concentration of medieval palaces, churches and residences - many of them more than 700 years old. It's best to put away your map and follow your nose through this maze of pedestrianised streets and alleys. Don't miss the exquisite Plaça Sant Josep Oriol - dominated by the church of Santa Maria del Pi, and the little alleys to the south.
